Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding semis, stainless steel and drawn wire) amount to 105 192 tonnes during December 2014.
According to data released by the South African Revenue Service, imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding semis, stainless steel and drawn wire) amount to 105 192 tonnes during December 2014, an increase of 36,6% compared with 76 984 tonnes imported during November 2014 and an increase of 80,9% compared with 58 154 tonnes imported during December 2013.
Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding semis, stainless steel and drawn wire) during the twelve months January 2014 to December 2014 amount to 1 038 427 tonnes, a decrease of 22,5% compared with 1 339 612 tonnes of primary carbon and alloy steel products imported during the corresponding twelve month period.
