2 March 2015 - Steel Sector Business Confidence Index – 1st quarter 2015
Herewith results of the 1st quarter 2015 survey conducted by SAISI amongst COSM clients.
Survey results:
- 33 = Current - Do you find prevailing business conditions in the steel industry to be satisfactory or unsatisfactory?
- 33 = Medium term - Do you expect business conditions in the steel industry to be satisfactory or unsatisfactory in 12 months' time?
- 48 = Long term - Do you expect business conditions in the steel industry to be satisfactory or unsatisfactory in five years' time?
The survey was conducted in the week of 23 to 27 February 2015.
The Steel Sector Business Confidence Index varies between 0 and 100. Respondents in the broad steel sector are asked to rate business conditions as "satisfactory" or "unsatisfactory". The Steel Sector Business Confidence Index is derived as the gross percentage of the respondents responding "satisfactory".
The Steel Sector Business Confidence Index should therefore be interpreted as follows, i.e. a value of 50 is indicative of neutrality, 100 indicates extreme confidence and 0 indicates extreme lack of confidence.
