25 November 2014 - The South African Iron and Steel Institute rated a Level Three contributor to B-BBEE

Smith & Smith Accountants CC, registered auditors approved by the Independent Regulatory Board of Auditors (IRBA) to provide Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) verification assurance services, has certified the South African Iron and Steel Institute as a Level Three contributor for the period 25 November 2014 to 24 November 2015.

A Level Three status affords a B-BBEE procurement recognition of 110% for customers of the South African Iron and Steel Institute.

An overall score of 75 was achieved in terms of the Codes of Good Practice on Black Economic Empowerment.

The South African Iron and Steel Institute performed well in terms of preferential procurement, enterprise development and socio-economic development.
