3 December 2015 - Steel import statistics released for October 2015
Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding semis, stainless steel and drawn wire) amount to 109 165 tonnes during October 2015.
According to data released by the South African Revenue Service, imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding semis, stainless steel and drawn wire) amount to 109 165 tonnes during October 2015, an increase of 25,9% compared with 86 718 tonnes imported during September 2015 and a decrease of 22,5% compared with 140 911 tonnes imported during October 2014.
Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding semis, stainless steel and drawn wire) during the first ten months of 2015 amount to 1 186 234 tonnes, an increase of 38,9% compared with 854 240 tonnes of primary carbon and alloy steel products imported during the corresponding period of 2014.
Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding semis, stainless steel and drawn wire) during the twelve months November 2014 to October 2015 amount to 1 368 409 tonnes, an increase of 32,1% compared with 1 035 584 tonnes of primary carbon and alloy steel products imported during the corresponding twelve month period.
