Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding stainless steel and drawn wire) amount to 57 877 tonnes during July 2006.
According to data released by the South African Revenue Service, imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding stainless steel and drawn wire) into South Africa amount to 57 877 tonnes during July 2006 compared with 31 187 tonnes during June 2006 and 20 094 tonnes during July 2005.
Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products for the twelve months August 2005 to July 2006 amount to 455 802 tonnes, an increase of 48,9% compared with the 306 205 tonnes of primary carbon and alloy steel products imported during the corresponding twelve month period.
