Cape Town Iron and Steel Works (Pty) Ltd (CISCO) is located in Kuilsrivier on the outskirts of Cape Town. The factory is well placed to meet the demands for reinforcing products especially in the Southern African region and is ideally suited to supply to any of the world markets. CISCO has been in business since 1965 and has constantly endeavoured to employ the best available steel making technology to meet the requirements of steel users, in terms of quality and price.

CISCO manufactures reinforcing bars in sizes 8,10,12,16,20,25,32 mm and concast billets in size 120 mm x 120 mm. The total steel making capacity is approximately 250 000 tonnes per year via the electric arc furnace continuous casting route.

CISCO maintains a stringent Quality Management System being listed in terms of the South African Bureau of Standards specification SABS 0157 Part II/ISO 9002 of 1987.Steel for the South African market is produced to SABS 920 (1985) standard and the steel for the export market can be manufactured to any customers’ specification on international standard.
