According to data released by the carbon steel members of SAISI, sales of primary carbon steel products to the domestic market amount to 503 697 tons during August 2006 compared with 492 272 tons during July 2006 and 371 094 tons during August 2005.
Sales of primary carbon steel products to the export market amount to 118 835 tons during August 2006 compared with 211 241 tons during July 2006 and 342 555 tons during August 2005.
