According to data released by the members of SAISI, crude steel production amounts to 821 442 tonnes during July 2006 compared with 830 688 tonnes during June 2006 and 779 599 tonnes during July 2005.
Of the 821 442 tonnes crude steel produced during July 2006, 396 199 tonnes were produced via the electric furnace route and 425 243 tonnes were produced via the oxygen furnace route.
