Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding stainless steel and drawn wire) amount to 43 243 tonnes during May 2006.
According to data released by the South African Revenue Service, imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding stainless steel and drawn wire) into South Africa amount to 43 243 tonnes during May 2006 compared with 48 028 tonnes during April 2006 and 28 525 tonnes during May 2005.
Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products for the twelve months June 2005 to May 2006 amount to 414 643 tonnes, an increase of 30,9% compared with the 316 791 tonnes of primary carbon and alloy steel products imported during the corresponding twelve month period.
