Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding stainless steel and drawn wire) amount to 34 174 tonnes during March 2006.
According to data released by the South African Revenue Service, imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding stainless steel and drawn wire) into South Africa amount to 34 174 tonnes during March 2006 compared with 31 715 tonnes during February 2006 and 22 417 tonnes during March 2005.
Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products for the twelve months April 2005 to March 2006 amount to 379 874 tonnes, an increase of 24,4% compared with the 305 487 tonnes of primary carbon and alloy steel products imported during the corresponding twelve month period.
