Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding stainless steel and drawn wire) amount to 31 715 tonnes during February 2006.
According to data released by the South African Revenue Service, imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding stainless steel and drawn wire) into South Africa amount to 31 715 tonnes during February 2006 compared with 46 109 tonnes during January 2006 and 18 405 tonnes during February 2005.
Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products for the twelve months March 2005 to February 2006 amount to 368 117 tonnes, an increase of 18,4% compared with the 310 820 tonnes of primary carbon and alloy steel products imported during the corresponding twelve month period.
