Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding stainless steel and drawn wire) amount to 46 109 tons during January 2006.
According to data released by the South African Revenue Service, imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding stainless steel and drawn wire) into South Africa amount to 46 109 tons during January 2006 compared with 16 505 tons during December 2005 and 27 091 tons during January 2005.
Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products for the twelve months February 2005 to January 2006 amount to 354 807 tons, an increase of 12,2% compared with the 316 033 tons of primary carbon and alloy steel products imported during the corresponding twelve month period.
