According to data released by the members of SAISI, crude steel production amounts to 765 931 tonnes during March 2007 compared with 701 837 tonnes during February 2007 and 691 002 tonnes during March 2006.
Of the 765 931 tonnes crude steel produced during March 2007, 405 464 tonnes were produced via the electric furnace route and 360 437 tonnes were produced via the oxygen furnace route.
