Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding stainless steel and drawn wire) amount to 31 187 tonnes during June 2006.
According to data released by the South African Revenue Service, imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding stainless steel and drawn wire) into South Africa amount to 31 187 tonnes during June 2006 compared with 43 243 tonnes during May 2006 and 27 810 tonnes during June 2005.
Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products for the twelve months July 2005 to June 2006 amount to 418 020 tonnes, an increase of 34,2% compared with the 316 791 tonnes of primary carbon and alloy steel products imported during the corresponding twelve month period.
